2011: The Year that Was

2011  really went by so fast! We still came in for work today, tsktsk...but since we had a benign duty; my friends and I just reminisced what we were doing this day last year. Actually I did thought of what had happened to me the whole year and I'm really happy to have been through it all that it made me a better person :)

It was also fun to read what I posted a year before, how toxic my duty was and how optimistic I am for the coming year. (you can read it here)

The Empty Street

Took some photos with my workmates at Ayala Ave. after our duty last night. The streets of Ayala and Makati Avenue were closed since December 29 in preparation for the New Year's Eve countdown party.

A couple of days ago, I saw this poor dog outside on the street near our house on my way home, it was still a puppy with its collar bit off. It was never aggressive. The next day, papa got so excited telling us how he was befriending the stray puppy over breakfast and how he wanted to adopt it and give the puppy a new home. awww... :) Meet "Budoy".

Holidays 2011

I'm so lucky to have the time to be with my loved ones this Christmas, often times as a nurse I was on duty at the hospital during Christmas/ New Year so I really don't celebrate it that much with my family. This year I had to spend Christmas Eve with my family, my boyfriend and his sister :) I already knew that I had all that I wanted this Christmas, the TIME spent to celebrate Jesus' birth with the people I love. My latest landmark bazaar haul

Went to landmark with the bf and her sis yesterday evening to buy something to wear to a baptism the next day. I saw the perfect dress almost instantly and then did some more shopping at Landmark's bazaar section. Here's what I bought:

Green polka dot and lace polo (perfect for the New Year), Peter pan collared top, black and rust jeggings :)  

Landmark has always been my go- to place for affordable chic clothes.

I also didn't include the dress that I'll be wearing tomorrow because i'm already laundrying it. hehe.. The best part is, I only spent merely 2,000 pesos for everything :)

Back to School :)

This is it guys! It's official! I'm going back to school this January :) Just another dream of mine coming true.

I've been wanting to study Fashion Design for years now but because of my day job as a staff nurse, it was hard to do them both at the same time. Now that I'm working at an Aesthetic Clinic, it really gave me an opportunity to pursue my passion. It was also a surprise that the Fashion Institute of the Philippines is just a few blocks away from the clinic. Grabe God has a plan for everything talaga :)

So before I came in for duty, I went to FIP and enrolled.

Day 10: My Dream Wedding

Aahh... the enigmatic event that every young girl dreamed of.. well including myself :)

But I never really dreamed of it in detail when I was younger; I just wanted to find my own true love; if it truly exists. I'm in a long term relationship right now, 5 years to be exact. He did not propose to me formally or anything, but we talked about spending our lives together. :) We even went to a Wedding Expo a couple of years ago just to have an idea on how much a wedding really costs; and we just got all giddy and had our hands all sweaty when people asked when our wedding date was going to be. Haha! I know it was a risky move to bring my boyfriend there which I thought could possibly scare him away, but 2 years later he's still here, and we're both still madly in love with each other :P

I start the day with a short prayer, thanking God for giving me another day to live. My room is at my lola's house but I basically live with my parents next door. Here's a photo of a view of our garden, the one that I see everyday whenever I go back to my parent's house next door for breakfast :)

I bought this phone because of its sleek design, piano black finish and sweet specs! :) This small gadget does the job every time! I can take perfect photos with its 5MP camera and upload it right away on my blog. The QWERTY keyboard is also always handy for fast no- look typing :) It also has powerful speakers that's really surprising for its compact design. I've got it last February and I've always loved it ever since.

On my way home from meeting Ruffa and Mike, I got a text message from my younger sister telling me that Mommy (our grandmother) looked like she suffered a heart attack. I then called her phone but she didn't answer; so I just walked hurriedly home, anxious.

I saw my grandmother, awake but unresponsive, she was so weak that she can't even speak. A few minutes later the Paramedics came and gave her the needed medical attention. She didn't have a heart attack, she 

got hypoglycemic and her BP shot up.

I could spend the whole day in front of the PC surfing around the internet about photography. Luckily, with all those hours spent; I discovered a gem right here, Ruffa and Mike a young couple so madly in love so contagious you could see it from the couples in their photos. They're quite new in the business but as I went through their blog, I've never seen an impressive portfolio from an up and coming talent as theirs.

So when my close friend Marion  asked me for some recommendations I just showed her Ruffa and Mike's blog and she was sold with the idea! and yesterday evening we met up with them.

I know I have just been shamelessly plugging most of the time here in my blog just because I really don't have much interesting events happening in my life other than my shop; I'm really happy thrifting beautiful clothes and sharing it to all of you. Right after the orientation, I met up with my lil sis at Rockwell to become more inspired (my younger sis, is planning to put up her own business too; she is more passionate about food so we found inspiration among the different pastries and goodies Rockwell and the Global Pinoy Bazaar.

Phase 2: Brown Bag Market Orientation + Sneak Peek

Sorry for the late post guys, I went to the orientation yesterday and then a bazaar in the afternoon; I had so much fun with my lil sis that I didn't get the chance to blog about it right away. Since I brought my trusty camera phone, I shot away :)

This is the first time that I am going to represent my shop personally so I was really anxious about meeting the veteran concessionaires, but I just thought that I too has the same passion that they have for their shops, in the end I was just overjoyed and happy about meeting people that were as hyper as I am in talking about our business.

The orientation was at 10 am; surprisingly I arrived earlier than expected hehe...since I was the early bird, I helped out Nori, the event organizer in distributing the materials for the orientation.
