Back to School :)

This is it guys! It's official! I'm going back to school this January :) Just another dream of mine coming true.

I've been wanting to study Fashion Design for years now but because of my day job as a staff nurse, it was hard to do them both at the same time. Now that I'm working at an Aesthetic Clinic, it really gave me an opportunity to pursue my passion. It was also a surprise that the Fashion Institute of the Philippines is just a few blocks away from the clinic. Grabe God has a plan for everything talaga :)

So before I came in for duty, I went to FIP and enrolled.

Here's Ms. Lette, the admin officer who attended to me from my phone inquiries up to my actual enrollment. I took a couple of photos of the area and I must say that its very conducive to learning. The whole room has a modern appeal and the area is clean and organized. Another reason why I enrolled  is also because of their flexible schedule; for some of us who still has a day job we can attend courses that are scheduled only once a week for 2 months.

Here's a little overview of what I'm going to learn:

BASIC FASHION DESIGN
Elements and principles of fashion design , textiles and texture, color schemes, figure analysis in aid of designing,
                  fabric estimates and garment costing.
Flat sketches and sketching the fashion figure in proper proportion with accurate garment details and color schemes.
Portfolio preparation, design presentation and other aspects to enhance one's ability to create a design or collection. (source)

I'm really excited about this, drawing a fashion figure instead of stick people, haha! (what have I gotten myself into?! ;p ) Classes start on January 9, 2012.

  1. Go, Christine! I'm so happy for you! You've somewhat inspired me and given me hope in knowing that there's still time to do what you love. A part of me is sure na kasi that I want to explore a completely different field once I finish my current course, so in some way, I can relate. :-) Follow your passions talaga, no?

    Congratulations! :-)

@carla- I've been praying so hard on what God wants me to do with my life, and if its really nursing is what's in my heart. I'm really surprised at how destiny conspired that I've reached this point that every opportunity always comes my way :) Let's just follow our passion
