Planning my Son's bear-y adorable Christening Party

Planning a budget friendly christening was a challenge to me because the media is so full of extravagantly styled parties; but in a sense that we wanted our event to be intimate as possible, we opted to have it bear themed (because we call our son Teo- bear) and invited our closest family and friends to celebrate in welcoming our son Liam Mateo to the Christian World.

We named our son Liam Mateo (Liam- meaning resolute protector, Mateo- meaning gift from God)

I'd like to share to you how we did it for less than 30k. Here's our supplier ratings to help you with your own planning too. Hopefully this would also be constructive to the suppliers we mentioned below.

What am I reading?

Since I got married I've occasionally read a couple of motivation and self help books but these are whats constantly in my book shelf:

1. Love & Respect: The Love She Most Desires; The Respect He Desperately Needs by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. Suggested by a Derma friend, this is really a marriage book with a difference! whenever I have disagreements with the hubby that I completely don't understand I grab this book and read and munch on the words and it places me back to reality. It answered a lot of questions but still acknowledged the beauty of our differences as husband and wife. So I suggest you guys read this and feel free and highlight all the phrases and passages that speak to you. Give your husband all the respect and adoration you can and watch the magic happen.

My husband and I are very pleased to announce that we will be expecting our first child this January 2015; so I guess my current occasional fashion blog might slowly transition into a mommy/wife blog, hehe... Well it sort of dawned to me that I will be needing an extra outlet for my emotions because becoming a new wife and preparing to be a mom was very overwhelming for me mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

How have you girls been?! Yup, I'm back to blogger again! After realizing that I missed writing and sharing my vintage treasures and a bit of my adventures :)

I finally got married to my boyfriend of more than 7 years last February and my life is a bit of an exciting mess from preps up to now, and still adjusting from being single to becoming an Army Wife. We had a lot of fun celebrating our love with a couple of our closest family and friends who were there for us since day 1. And we were so happy that all of our hard work and planning paid off. Fast Paced

These past couple of months has been a roller coaster ride for both my family and I. Far from the constant lull of my life as an aesthetic nurse and an occasional fashion blogger.

Last February, my boyfriend of 6 years asked me to marry him. Though no formal proposal took place; his intentions and plans were already enough for me, so before his dad left for Saudi Arabia both our families had a little get together and discussed a bit about our plans. :)

Alter/ed Perspective

Oh yes guys I'm still alive! :) I needed to take a short hiatus because I had to prepare for something big that's going to happen in my life soon, hehe...but don't worry I'm going to let you know about it soon. So anyway, I just had the opportunity to attend a graduation fashion show c/o my friend's brother NJ Oropesa.

Last March 22, the Fashion Design and Merchandising Graduates of the College of St. Benilde held a grad show at the Rockwell Tent that they entitled, Altered Perspective.

Hosted by Ms. Divine Lee, their edgy and sexy show started with a full house.

Budoy Today

Exactly a year ago, I blogged about some new additions to our family; four- legged best friends that became close to our hearts and were treated as true siblings. Its a great feeling to show you guys an update on how Budoy's doing.

9 Days of Christmas Bazaar: Day 3

This is it Day 3! We had to make the most out of this day, not only in terms of sales but also to meet and bond with our booth sisters and neighbors :)

We decided to dress our mannequin in my current favorite look, "Military and Lace"

9 Days of Christmas Bazaar: Day2

Since day 1 was a bit of a lull, my sister and I did a few adjustments with our booth, small details like changing a pom pom ball from white to green because it looked better in photos, changed the arrangement of our clothes by placing our tees on the bottom rack and our vintage pieces on the upper rack. We also changed some of our accessories on display.

We sold a lot of tees that night :)

9 Days of Christmas Bazaar Day 1

At last! after weeks of photo shoots, our bazaar stint and a wedding I'll finally have time to blog (you could expect more soon!) :) First up is Day 1 of our participation in the 9 Days of Christmas Bazaar.

It was really weird that I was very calm that day; actually my mind was telling me to feel the nerves, but I just felt...calm, and sleepy even :P So we had all our stuff packed days before, all that was left was to get the table, chairs, mannequin and clothes rack to our garage, once that was done, my sister and I ate a hearty breakfast.

A Vintage Picnic Love Shoot

My sister and I have been talking about pursuing styling, well..engagement styling in particular, as a means of expanding our market for our online vintage clothing store. So as soon as my friend Darlene agreed to be our first customer, we started with the planning ASAP.

I never really thought that engagement shoots were this labor intensive! We were also lucky that our bride-to-be was very hands-on and did the props for the set. All we had to do that day was assist them with their clothes change, show pegs to the Make up artist and set up the picnic area. And I thought is was that easy, specially when it started to rain so hard after we had set up! waaahhh!

Oh the challenges that we went through that day, good thing we were surrounded by very supportive people.

We were also very lucky to have the opportunity to work with the couple's young and creative team, Ruffa and Mike Photography, Marvin Barbarona and Khite Bautista.
