BTS: Endless Summer (indoor)

A few weeks ago, we were fortunate enough to have our products photographed by my friend Karen at our makeshift home studio; it was as usual a lot of fun! The best part was, we brainstormed about the outdoor shoot at Buddy's over a warm plate of Pancit Lucban and yummy Bacon and Pepperoni Pizza.

Cheap Thrill: Korean Fish Ice Cream

Since its our last day of Basic Fashion Design, my friends Sam and Jane finally agreed to let me experience the infamous Fish Ice Cream. (I honestly thought that it was really made out of fish and grossed myself out, and after researching it I was glad to learn that it wasn't made out of fish at all but it was just shaped like one!) So during the break we dropped by at Rada Mart and bought my first Korean Fish Ice Cream.

Cheap Thrill: Tapsilog sa Dahon

My sister Audie has been raving about this Tapsihan that they ate at a couple of weeks ago, I was so intrigued specially by looking at the photos of what they ate, how yummy it looked and how pretty the presentation was :) Who knew that a humble store like theirs can offer Crepes! :) 

I then researched and found that they have a Facebook account. Excited as I was, I asked the boyfriend to accompany me and do a little food trip and find Tapsilog sa Dahon.

Holidays 2011

I'm so lucky to have the time to be with my loved ones this Christmas, often times as a nurse I was on duty at the hospital during Christmas/ New Year so I really don't celebrate it that much with my family. This year I had to spend Christmas Eve with my family, my boyfriend and his sister :) I already knew that I had all that I wanted this Christmas, the TIME spent to celebrate Jesus' birth with the people I love. Here's what we had for Noche Buena:

Experiencing the Edamame KitKat

We were given these sweets from Dra. Aranas, our pretty derma who came back from Japan. And there it was, the KitKat we were all excited about (even though we didn't even know what flavor it was! ha ha!) But basing on the photo on the box we initially thought that it was Wasabi Flavored :p


I really got interested to research about more of the weird flavors KitKat in Japan has:

• “vanilla” (which must contain something other than vanilla since the bar emerges in a pure white form)
• “banana” (sporting a pastel yellow look)
• “strawberry” (made with .048% real fruit)
• “sakura” (a seasonal shame)
• “apple” (fortified with vitamin C in case citizens begin to confuse confectionary with produce)
• “swirled melon” (from the swirled melon tree native to the Niger River)
• “blood orange” (no thank-you)
• “eraser” (the Kit-Kat design is imprinted on erasers throughout the nation. Unfortunately, erasers are non-caloric and cannot be further discussed).
• “matcha” (an abomination of culture)
• and finally, “edamame.”----there it is!! (after confirming with Dra. Aranas)

Busy Ayala triangle branch of Bon Chon

I heard a lot of good reviews from my foodie friends about how good the chicken tastes here at Bon Chon, so with my boyfriend and our vow to "Always try something new" we went optimistic to their Ayala Triangle branch :)

Groupon date at Tender Bob's

Here's a cheap date trick that I am sharing for those couples who wanted to try something new but are also saving up for something big (like "the big day") *wink.

A lot of groupon sites popped up this year, there's cashcashpinoy, metrodeal, ensogo and for the higher end deals there's dealgrocer. But still keep in mind that even though you are getting the deals in lower amount doesn't mean that you have to buy every deal that pops up ( I knew a few people who does that) Anyway, I bought this cashcashpinoy voucher a couple of months ago so that my boyfriend and I could try other restaurants but with half the price, the problem was we really didn't had the time; as what I've told from    a previous post, its hard to be an Army girlfriend because you'll just never know when you could spend the time together; so we rarely plan our dates.

Good thing, he just came back from a mission from Bicol the day before and has time to spend with me, *kiligkilig! off to Tender Bob's Greenbelt!

At Dads with our "clinic dad"

Kc and I went to Dads Glorietta branch last night after our clinic duty to confirm our company's reservation.

We were all so excited to eat out with the whole staff despite the strong rain. We then entered the restaurant and sat down on two of the 30 seats reserved. Vera asked us to take some of her favorite grilled Salmon that we then ended up eating before they even arrived hahaha!

Don't you just love how lace looks like? :) when I think of vintage, lace instantly pops in my mind.  While I'm out thrift shopping, I always imagine finding a beautiful lace dress  :)

Laser resurfacing and some chicken baked macaroni :)

You might heard of Laser resurfacing or Fractional Lasers in Aesthetic procedures but do you really know what amazing things it can do to your skin? According to Wikipedia; Photorejuvenation is a skin treatment that uses intense pulsed light or other thermal or chemical methods to treat some skin conditions and remove wrinkles arising from photoaging. The process induces controlled wounds on the skin, prompting it to heal itself by creating new cells. This process reverses the effects of photoaging to a certain extent by removing wrinkles.

Laser resurfacing is under the Mechanical type of photorejuvenation. It is indicated for people who has wrinkles, acne scars, and even stretch marks.  More commonly now, laser resurfacing is done with a fractional laser. The term fractional is the method in which the laser light is transferred. Tiny pinpoints of laser light are used to deliver the laser to the surface of the skin in only a fraction of the area. Several hundred or thousands of laser pinpoints may be used per square inch, leaving healthy skin in between the ablated areas, to allow more rapid healing and lower risk.

Vera, one of our own had a chance of experiencing our clinic's newest laser, the DEKA SmartXide laser which boasts to give patients for a less invasive procedure with the shortest amount of recovery time (about 3-5 days). Our girl Vera here opted to let our resident dermatologist treat her acne scars and wanted to resurface her cheeks and her forehead. The whole procedure takes an average of 30 mins depending on the area to be treated. Vera just washed her face first and placed EMLA (topical anesthetic) and the procedure is done as soon as the anesthesia takes effect. After the procedure, the area is cleaned with wet gauze and a topical antibiotic is applied.
